Meet The Fellows
Siibii
Montreal, Canada
At 1.5M+ streams across all platforms, queer, non-binary, Indigenous pop singer/songwriter, Siibii’s messages within their debut EP For Those I Love(d) (released under their former performance name, Angel Baribeau) continue to ring loud and clear.
With stunning vocals to amplify vulnerable and honest lyrics, Siibii’s debut project flows forth with a wisdom-rife, intimate vulnerability cascading through distinctly warm textures and catchy acoustic pop melodies.
Originally from the Cree community of Mistissini, Quebec, and now based in Montreal, Siibii first started making music through the formation of their early indie-folk outfit, Simple Human Tribe. Their solo work gained momentum in 2014 when they were selected for a feature on the #1 iTunes chart-topping N’we Jinan compilation album, Eeyou Istchee Volume 1.
Ultimately, Siibii’s goal is to be a changemaker, noting the responsibility they feel to pursue their talent to create more representation within the industry for those who look and identify as they do.

"The VERSIONS Fellowship empowered and equipped me with the tools I needed to create and fulfill a community project. I've worked alongside organizations that made it feel like I required huge entities to create any sort of social programming. Now I understand I don't need a huge org. I just need myself and community members/stakeholders. There are people who are just as passionate about social justice and social programming. That has changed my life."
