Yiidum Wiwa
Chicago, United States
Yiidum Charles-Wiwa is a Nigerian American on the path to Broadway. Singing since the age of two, the Chicago-born musician is passionate about writing, singing, and fostering human connection. Yiidum believes everyone’s experience matters, and she strives to be the voice of people who share her struggles.
Yiidum’s experience with health issues helped shape her perspective and develop an immense appreciation for life. She strives to share her gratitude for life through her performances in various musicals and talent shows, including Footloose, Grease, and Cinderella. In addition to musical storylines, Yiidum finds it easiest to express herself through music, specifically R&B and neo-soul.
With Whitney Houston and Erykah Badu as her greatest inspirations, Yiidum’s aspirations are large. Though she’s quiet, her peers are drawn to her passion, work ethic, and overall kind spirit. Yiidum lives by her personal motto, “When the going gets tough, never give up,” because she’s come too far to turn back now.
